Studio Policies

I hope to lead my studio and business with transparency and intention. Below you can find my studio policies. Please let me know if you have any comments, questions, or concerns — I’d love to chat!

[updated July 2025]

EXPECTATIONS

Of me: You can expect me to come to each lesson as promptly as possible with a positive attitude, ready to make beautiful music. I promise to maintain a safe and encouraging atmosphere that promotes learning and exploration in all aspects of life, but especially music and the arts.

Of students: Students are expected to come to their lesson prepared and with all required materials. Rude, disrespectful or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Students are expected to maintain a regular practice schedule that has been agreed upon at home.

MATERIALS

As the teacher, I will provide PDFs of sheet music that I have access to, in-studio singing tools and initial take-home singing tools. You will also be assigned a Google Drive folder that contains a practice journal and will be our “meeting place” for documents, tracks, communication, etc. Students are required to have a 3-ring binder with music or lyrics printed, straw(s), cork, and other singing tools. (I will provide the first straw and cork.) You can be expected to invest in song anthologies or to purchase sheet music online.

Singing voice rehabilitation students: You will be required to provide relevant documentation, including stroboscope if necessary. Two-factor authentication is used for all documentation in my possession and I will provide you with a confidentiality agreement upon request.

COMMUNICATION

All communication in regards to make-up lessons, scheduling changes, tuition, payments, and termination of lessons will occur Monday to Friday from 9am-8pm via email (madisonlombardomusic@gmail.com.) Day-of-lesson changes and cancellations may be communicated via text.

SCHEDULING

Lessons are scheduled through Acuity. Students will have a regularly occurring time, whether weekly or biweekly. Scheduling will be done at the beginning of each term. Drop-ins are welcome per availability.

Terms are as follows: January - May, June - August, September - December.

RATES/ENROLLMENT

Lessons are $100 for 55 minutes, $50 for 30 minutes, and consultations are $45 for 30 minutes. Payments are collected at the conclusion of the lesson via Acuity. I do not offer refunds for lessons except for in extenuating circumstances.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance are charged the lesson fee unless I can fill the time slot with a waitlisted student.

Students may have a Zoom lesson if traveling or sick. A lesson may be forfeited if the student is sick, unable to vocalize, or otherwise unable to attend in person or online.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

I will commit to providing a minimum of 2 performance opportunities for students each year. This may require an additional participation fee. Students will pay the accompanist(s) an additional fee that is set by the accompanist(s).
